Today I went to the Apple Store in the Woodland Hills mall to pick up a video adapter for a couple of presentations I am making on Monday night at the Tulsa.rb meeting. While there I saw the neoprene laptop zipper covers that I wanted to use with my soon-to-be-arriving MacBook, grabbed that and found myself being pulled towards the iMac area.

Man is that a nice computer with 24″ of pure screen gloriness. I quickly had to start blotting the sides of my mouth as drool peeked out from my open gape. Looking around others were having the same issue as they took in the sleekness and beautiful screen while asking the closest person to them “Where are the wires?”.

Finally, after playing with the new iMovie and Keynote I made my way towards the checkout area and purchased my two items. Here is how that conversation went:

Cashier: Credit or Cash Sir?
Me: Credit please (yes I said please)
Cashier: Is this all for you?
Me: Yes, got all I wanted
Cashier: Would you mind if we email you your receipt in order to save paper?
Me: What?
Cashier: Can we email you your receipt instead of printing?
Me: Sure.
Cashier: May I have your email?
Me: i-b-s-p-o-o-f @ gmail
Cashier: Alright sir, that has been emailed to you, have a great day!
Me: Thanks.

I got home checked my email and bam there it was in PDF format with all the details of my order. That is probably the nicest experience I have ever had in a store and definitely the BEST experience ever had in a mall.

Thank you Apple, you have proven you know your customers and go out of your way to match their needs.
